Morning ride to the Rolous Market
Start biking from your Hotel to visit Rolous Market .This is a great opportunity for you to take pictures of locals selling their grown vegetables, different fish caught in the area and other local produce. Carry on biking through villages to see colorful gardens. Stop to see people grow the special “Kanh Chaay” herb at Kok Srok Village. Visit an 8th century temple and a pagoda on the way before returning to your hotel by lunch time.
Start cycling and stop in a village to see locals using a rice mill and making rice wine. Like in most other villages people grow rice for their own consumption. You will sometimes see a rice mill in a shed next to their house, but very often locals just pay a certain amount to have their rice milled. You will be surprised to see very tall stilted houses where fishermen live; these houses have been designed this way to protect the inhabitants from the high water level of the Tonle Sap Lake during the rainy season.
